Update for Campus Connectivity
We continue to work at expanding our access points for faculty and students. We have space at Chozen Hall available for faculty that includes about a dozen computers (if you don’t have your own laptop).
Limited faculty office space is available in Chozen Hall during normal University business hours (Monday-Thursday 7:30 am to 5:00 pm; Friday 7:30 am to 11:30 am). You can reserve a space online here or walk-in and see what is available.
To access the space:
- Go to Chozen Hall and enter the building through the front entrance (facing McNeese/Ryan intersection). Parking is available around Chozen and Burton Halls.
- Check-in at the reception desk and you will be escorted to an available office space.
- Work using your own laptop or a desktop/laptop provided by Chozen Hall staff.
- Return to the reception desk to check-out and enjoy the rest of your day.
To increase areas of student access, this weekend we will start allowing students to also use the second floor faculty computer room in the SEED Center (east side meeting rooms). Faculty are still welcome to use the SEED Center but if you would like more privacy you may prefer Chozen Hall. We are also currently evaluating the rec center as a large space for wifi access.
Updates for Connectivity
After the fallout of Hurricane Laura, connectivity and internet service has been a struggle to restore. With most of the issues being a lack of Wifi or even cell service. AT&T, Verizon, and other service providers have provided links that have recent updates and developments of solving theses issues. Some of the service providers have mobile stations and will give you access to mobile devices and computers regardless of your service provider. Select a provider to view updates.

Right now Wifi access is available in the northwest part of the McNeese parking garage and in the SEED center near campus. There is more detailed information below:
Student or employee login credentials are required as no “guest” WiFi access is available. Students and faculty should bring their own devices. Restrictions on student-only parking in the garage are suspended for the remainder of the fall term and only students, faculty and contractors working on campus restoration are authorized to use the garage at this time. A limited number of work and study spaces will be available to students and faculty in offices and classrooms in the SEED Center. The SEED Center is open and working. Faculty who need information about these workspaces should contact their department head or college dean. Students who wish to use these spaces in order to access WiFi and for class assignments should bring their own devices.
