Tutoring or Homework Help

McNeese has several tutoring options available on campus and online to assist students.  

Contact your instructor for help outside of class - Additional instruction can be arranged after class by contacting the course instructor for help.  See the course syllabi for contact information.

Foreign Languages Lab - located in Kaufman Hall Room 308, offers extensive tutoring for students enrolled in foreign language courses. The lab consists of computers with language programs and recording capabilities, study tables for small groups, and a Promethean board and Smart TV for group viewing. More information may be obtained from the student’s foreign language instructor.

Literature Lab - located in Kaufman Hall Room 301, is a resource for students to discuss reading materials. Tutors help students learn how to annotate and create useful notes on readings; understand literary terms, techniques, and concepts; decipher poetic and/or archaic language; identify central themes and issues; and locate where problems of misinterpretation arise.

Mathlab Tutoring Center - located in Kirkman Hall Room 201, provides tutoring for students enrolled in Math 113, College Algebra. The ACC Tutoring Center works on a first-come, first-served basis, so no appointments are necessary. To view tutoring times, visit acc.mcneese.edu/ttcenters.

The Write to Excellence Center (WTEC) - located in Drew Hall Room 234, aids students in strengthening writing skills and in thinking critically about their own writing. Besides offering feedback on written work, tutors provide students with guidance and help on the development of all aspects of the writing process, including brainstorming, theses, content, and citations. Tutors also provide students with assistance in any discipline or form of professional development, including résumé development, reports in technical fields, and academic writing and/or publications. While tutors do not proof-read written work, they do assist students in the development of personal proof-reading skills. Hours of operation are posted at www.mcneese.edu/writingcenter and at the WTE Center. Appointments can be made by calling (337) 562-4205 or by registering at mcneese.mywconline.com. Walk-ins are also welcome.

On-Campus Tutoring Center - located in Kirkman Hall Room 129, provides tutoring for students enrolled in math, biology, chemistry, physics, and/or engineering courses. To view tutoring times and subjects being tutored, visit acc.mcneese.edu/ttcenters.

Online Tutoring - No Cost Online Tutoring for McNeese students. Whether you need help with math homework, an English paper, or preparing for a test, HomeworkLouisiana can help! HomeworkLouisiana offers  online tutoring and academic resources at no additional cost (free) from Tutor.com for McNeese Students. Students can get help in math, science, social studies or English from a live tutor.  

The HomeworkLouisiana online classroom has been provides one-on-one learning sessions. It includes real-time chat, an interactive white-board, math tools that include drag and drop shapes and commonly used equations, graphing paper and much more. A student and tutor can also share files or browse educational resources on the Web.  

Students can also use the Write Tutor Drop-off Essay Review service for help with written assignments and research papers.  Get help writing essays, and more from an essay writing tutor online. Students work one-to-one with an essay-writing tutor on whatever you need help with. Our tutors will help you understand what makes a great essay, and how you can create one—whether you're working on a book report, research paper, or creative writing assignment.

Let's say you're writing an essay about a book you just read, but aren't sure where to start. A tutor can help you in real-time (live) write an outline, structure your paper, cite your sources, and proofread your essay once it's complete.
